Events
An event is a record of something that happened: an incident, a near miss, or another safety occurrence. Each event has a title, a description, a date, a location, who reported it, a type, a status and an assignee. Around it you can collect media, review metrics, create action items, open an investigation, and discuss it with your team.
Events are listed under Events in the sidebar (under Events & Review). The page header says Reports: in Safety Radar, events and reports mean the same thing.
How events are created
Section titled “How events are created”Most events come from the field:
- From a form. When a form has Generate Event turned on, every submission, from the Safety Center, the mobile app or the dashboard, also creates an event. The event takes its title from the form and links back to the submission. See Forms.
- From another system, through the REST API.
Admins can also add events in the dashboard, from the Actions button on the Events page:
- Create Event: record a single event by hand.
- Upload Events: import events from a CSV file, matching its columns to Safety Radar fields in a Data Mapping step.
- Bulk Update: update many existing events from a CSV file.
