Team and roles

The Investigation Team is who works on the case, and it’s also who can see it. Adding someone to the team gives them access to the case and everything under it: the analysis, meetings and evidence.

The person who opened the case always has access, whether or not they’re on the team.

  1. On the case page, find Investigation Team and select Add.
  2. Choose the Person and their Role.
  3. Select Add member.

Select the remove button on their row and confirm. They lose access straight away: the case behaves as if it doesn’t exist for them. You can add them again at any time.

A role describes what someone does on the case. Roles are labels: they don’t change what a person can see or do, since being on the team is what gives access.

The default roles are Sponsor, Facilitator and Other. Admins can add, rename and reorder roles in Investigation settings.

Management Sponsor and Facilitator are fields on the case. Set them in Case Details → Edit, from the people on the team; add someone to the team first if they aren’t listed.

The Evidence panel holds the files for the case: photos, documents, interview notes.

  1. Select Add evidence.
  2. Optionally write a Note that describes the files you’re about to add.
  3. Drag files onto the panel, or select Choose files.
  4. Select Done.

Each file shows its size and who uploaded it. You can download a file or edit its note. iPhone photos are converted to JPEG automatically.
